Our flight was at 8:55am so were were there in time for breakfast. The flight took us 4 hours to reach Taipei.
We were greeted by a very clean airport indeed.
Soon after immigraton clearance, we found our way to have some food at Subway. Being a Chinese government country, most of the description are in Chinese. Fortunately, we are in good command of the language and could get around.
From the international airport, we need to take a transit bus (NT$30 per pax) that's about 1/2 hour ride to the nearest HSR station. A HSR ride brought us quicky to Chiayi station where we need to take a transit bus that will bring us to Chiayi town. Even on the bus, the bus driver will announce the "itinerary" of the journey before moving off.
Soon, we arrive at Chiayi bus station. The next thing to do is to find our way to our hotel; from the map, it looks pretty close, but since there's a road that cuts between without possible route by foot, we decided to take a cab which is about 5mins' ride from the bus station (about NT$130).
Finally we arrive at Chiayi! It's time for dinner since we had a long journey back. Weather's cooler here as compared to Singapore. It's beginning to turn cooler here; overall the temperature's still comfortable.

First stop: the famous turkey rice at the corner of the street. It's not too crowded when we were there so we could easily get seats. Dinner consisted of turkey rice, noodles and a small dish of century eggs.
More local food to explore so we headed further down. Ah yes...there's the fried chicken with seasoning which is a common street food here so we didn't waste a chance:
Things which may not be that local includes the Takopochi and this special layered cake which is known to be much costlier in Singapore:
Time to head back for some planning before moving on to the next day.
